Excited to speak at #NCTMATL25, Oct. 15–18! Join me to explore carefully curated math interviews designed to uncover what our youngest mathematicians know. We will explore reporting strategies, ways to track growth, and developmentally appropriate instructional next steps.
Just interviewed a student. He surprised us all. His first grade class is learning to count to 20, and we just discovered he has number sense within 1,000. Math interviews always uncover that students know more than we think!
Looking forward to presenting at #NCSM2025 on October 14 and #NCTMATL25 on October 17. Will be speaking about the power of strength-based math interviews in the early years!
Such a great day at #nctmchi24
Excited to get to share how math interviews reveal the brilliance of young learners at our session! Join us tomorrow at 8 am!

Last sessions of the day are really highlighting how to bring S thinking into the forefront. Great discussions about routines to elevate S voices with @MathTransform Richie and Andy. Plus, feed back in @Desmos with @danluevanos and @nhoskee
Richie Moreno, Andy Jenson, and @MathTransform will share examples and hear from teachers about how community-building activities, number talks, and a digitally-enhanced culture of feedback, reflection and revision foster positive math identities. @cmc_south@OCMathCouncil
Join us at the GSDMC Annual Mathematics Conference on Saturday to explore innovative ways to provide personalized feedback, support self-assessment, and bring out every student's voice in your math class!
