@MathiasKatamba: I want to propose to you some key life principles that have worked well for me in my personal and professional journey that I believe can be deeply beneficial to you too.
• What would you like your obituary to say? What's the point? Why would it all have been worth it in the end?
• What am I really good at? What is my gift? How does it benefit others? Who needs me? What about my relationships?
• Answering these questions will open your mind about your purpose. Remember that "any person regardless of their circumstances can decide what shall become of them"
• Today you are part of a privileged group in our society that has been handed one of the greatest equalizers in life, Education. From here on you have a fresh page to write on. You can be anything you set your mind to, as long as you turn your business or your career into a vocation and don't look back.
Delayed Gratification
• Avoid the temptation to celebrate too early. The desire to enjoy the fruits of your labour too quickly is the cause of many business failures. There will be a time to celebrate. Like you have sacrificed through your years of study so far, the same patience needs to be applied to your career or entrepreneurship journey in the world after university you strive to solve someone else's challenge. The reward is abundant success and growth.
Character as opposed to Personality
• Focus on real inner personal development, be dependable, keep your word, be honest, be warm, a good human being. Focus on the inside. Too many people today focus on what is seen, how they dress, how they speak etc. There are even careers for image consultants. Men and Women focused on how to create an appearance, a personality an external presentation.
Take the time, the life lessons, the listening, the development to work on your character. It's priceless
Take Baby Steps
• Do not wait until you can take a giant step. Start your journey now. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other.
• Be Patient, as they say, Rome was not built in one day.
Great Cities, Communities, Friendships, Relationships, and Businesses are built over time. The Key is for you to remain consistent and committed. Your commitment to your cause, your career, and your enterprise should never be under any doubt. It is that commitment that will keep you going when times are tough when the naysayers are louder than your inner voice. That commitment will keep you moving long enough till a brighter day.
