The temptation to leave tech and run away to some charity in the countryside doing good for the world increases evermore each day.

Grateful to the folks at Cloudflare who’ve been working to reduce this risk the last few days. - Package moved to the Astro org, no single-author control - Binary replaced with lightweight native TS version - Bundled into the wrangler build to avoid the install-time dependency

👀 Cloudflare's wrangler CLI (~20m installs/week) has a new dependency... a ~600kb WASM binary used by no other package on npm: `rosie-skills`. I've been told that it is a legitimate package published by an employee, but it really looks like the start of a supply chain attack...

npm package dependents: npmjs.com/package/rosie-skil… npm package size: npmx.dev/package-timeline/ro… I've filed an issue with Cloudflare to clarify what this package is doing in wrangler and why it is required given the context here on binary size provenance: github.com/cloudflare/worker…

65% humidity at this temperature is just gross. How am I possibly going to sleep like this?

Please be patient to UK content creators We are currently being hit with a pretty intense heatwave, meaning we'll probably be working a tad slower, have less energy and may even need to take a break from our PCs to prevent them from overheating Also none of this "Well we have it hotter over here" bs: - UK heat is built different - Most of us don't have ACs since we rarely NEED them for most of the year - Our houses are built to keep heat in due to how cold our weather can get - We aren't as used to hot weather given how 80% of the year, UK weather isn't hot We're not trying to dispute who has it worse/hotter, we just want patience and understanding 🙏

Be very careful clicking on any links, etc. in the official Cloudflare Discord server right now. Crypto scams and more remain unmoderated for days sometimes. Cloudflare disbanded their Community Champs program - folks who moderated the server and provided early feedback.

Always disheartening to see a company abandon its community efforts, especially one you've advocated for and supported for a long time. Not the first time I've seen this happen, won't be the last, but it always hurts, and it never goes well for the company in the long run.

It is so incredibly fulfilling to see Alveus continue to grow and do good in the world, watching the community continue to support it to each new milestone, knowing that the open-source code I help maintain in my spare time is a small part of making that happen.

Ok, I've had enough of this. I'm relieved that I never actually adopted RSC and at this point I'm convinced I never will. I'm now firmly in the camp of "RSC was a bad idea." The problems weren't made up. But this solution is not good.
We’ve released Next.js versions 16.2.6 and 15.5.18 with important security fixes. These fixes address multiple vulnerabilities across high, moderate, and low severity, including one upstream React issue. We strongly recommend upgrading as soon as possible. ⬇️

Spent my last few weekends working on the cdnjs API worker to improve the HTML "human" output for it, with the aim being to eventually serve the main site via it. Implemented my own client islands w/ Vite, and has been a lot of fun just writing React some build tooling again.

Just got the API docs rendering with Swagger after a bunch of customisation, pretty happy with the result: api.cdnjs.com/api?output=hum… The existing site is an unmaintained Nuxt.js app served via Express.js, so I'm quite excited to get all the pages ready on the worker to replace it.

Open-source, of course, and a Cloudflare worker, of course: github.com/cdnjs/api-server Beyond building the pages themselves, the other known outstanding task is to get some actual browser testing going alongside the existing test suite. Issue open, contributions welcome.

YouTube's RSS feed availability is truly odd. Seems to break daily somewhere around 8pm UTC and then comes back promptly at 8am UTC each day. Such an odd availability pattern for something they link in the meta tags of every channel page.
