Unintended positive side effect of this insanity More young people than ever will now care about politics There's probably a line here that should be drawn Internet concentration camps until you are 16 is not it
We are banning social media access for under 16s. These days kids must find their feet in a world where technology intrudes into every area of their life. I just can’t let that go on anymore. So we’re giving children their childhoods back.
Community note
The UK Government's 'careful review' of the research found a small correlation between children's use of social media and wellbeing, but no evidence of a causal effect: gov.uk/government/pub… assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/696e0b46…

Banning social media for teenagers only puts them in greater danger. Teens are forced to switch to VPNs — and unlock far worse illegal content. We’ve seen this before. When the Russian government banned Telegram, 95% of Russian teenagers kept using it. They just moved to VPNs.

This is the point. Same will happen in all countries that will make social media age restrictions. “Won’t someone think of the children” is usually not about the children
JUST IN: UK Government clarifies adults will still be able to use social media by verifying their identities with digital IDs, facial recognition, passports and credit cards.

how to be good at your job - realize this one thing is actually made up of two separate things - realize instead of solving the direct problem you can solve a broader problem - instead of implementing thing, implement other thing that makes it easier to implement thing

I really love paper Never thought something would replace figma so quickly for me
Good morning! The Pen Tool is live in Paper Draw shapes, generate SVGs, or vectorize images, and edit the points and paths. Paper uses real SVGs so exports are 1:1, no surprises. The new SVG workflow: create → refine → ship. Try it out! And show us what you draw.

A set of skills loosely ties different workflows together - scaffolding from blueprints, discovery for figuring out the details, distilling into a spec, design flows w/ @paper , breaking into planning then detailed sprints that get /goal maxxed working on a cli that ties it altogether getting more done then I was in my orchestration era and I'm closer to the code than ever theres merit in the orchestration but I found it tricky to make it complimentary and not in conflict with my deepest work too far from the code churning out frankensteins

spent the week writing evals for the first time. what i learned: if you’re shipping AI features without evals, you're shipping vibes. if you can’t describe what good looks like in an eval case, you don’t actually know what you’re building.

Everyone loves the idea of being a founder. Nobody loves the reality: 3 years in, 6 pivots, $0 in the bank, and a co-founder who quit. Parents doubt you. Investors Ghosts. But you still show up at 120%. The exit shows the world who you are. The struggle reveals who you are.
