Such brilliant news. As a local resident I know first hand some of the great activities and services the @SelbyCentre provides. Now the hard work to deliver the plans begins!

Really exciting to have these three brilliant women joining our leadership team. Looking forward to learning from them and doing great work together

Still giddy from winning this award. It is lovely to be recognised, but definitely a group effort from all those at @ICClimited who have played their part in growing our housing mission. And I wouldn't be here without the many authentic leaders I have learned from over the years.

The prevailing narrative is that climate action is an expense rather than an investment – And while it’s true that the US, UK, Canada and Australia have fallen billions of dollars short of their “fair share” of climate funding... theguardian.com/global-devel…

My @ICClimited colleagues like @ATStarkie have a proven track record in helping councils deliver real #LevellingUp at a local level. In this great article in the MJ, Andy shares practical steps to keep investing in communities with or without central government funding.
The #levellingup funding pot is slow to arrive and won't go as far as had been hoped. I wrote for @themjcouk about how it is still possible to leverage the capital or revenue funding necessary to support the #communities we love. themj.co.uk/Levelling-up-loc…

Inspiring words from my @ICClimited colleagues
A great call to action from @Georgia_Gould. The #housingcrisis is acute in London. Her proposal for councils to acquire more properties to let at social rent is definitely part of the solution but it needs serious investment from central government to be delivered at scale.

My @ICClimited colleague @lucygeldard at @thehousingforum conference explaining how the housing crisis is not just national but local, requiring bespoke solutions in different place. All based on fascinating research we are undertaking for Surrey County Council.

At @ICClimited, we design our missions around your purpose. Right now, the purpose is #transformingpublicservice to cope with one of the most challenging periods in public sector finance so councils can still deliver core services. room151.co.uk/funding/counci…

Around half of #AffordableHousing is currently delivered through planning requirements (Section 106). There are problems with the current system in terms of the quality of the homes being delivered, but reducing the obligation is not the answer without a good alternative.

Replying to @atravers60
@atravers60 opening panel discussion by looking back to post war period when the public sector was delivering social housing at scale. The GLC had 350 in house architects! How do we create collaborative structures to give us that sort of scale?
We're up and running at the #FoLAffordableHousing conference. It's going to be a great day discussing the challenge of creating enough homes for Londoners.

Difficult context made more difficult by 'a Government that doesn't understand double entry bookkeeping!'

Getting the discussion going. @fifletcher shocked by the wide widespread attitude in housing associations that they don’t need to work with councils.
