Maybe I'm naive but I just think the fact that the Doctor is (possibly) the only character on TV who can now be played by literally anyone (of any race/gender) is a beautiful thing that should be celebrated.
Ncuti Gatwa is the first openly queer Black actor to take on the role of the core Doctor.
“I feel like anyone that has a problem with someone who’s not a straight white man playing this character, you’re not really, truly a fan of the show," he says. wp.me/pc8uak-1lE2Ic
I swear I actually miss the BBC Three days, Sun sex and suspicious parents, murdered by my boyfriend, world's strictest parents, Snog, Married, Avoid.. the list could go on.
It really is such a shame this regeneration sequence shits its pants in the final ten seconds because “It has been an absolute joy” would’ve been such a wonderful line for Doctor Who as we currently know it to go out on.
I maintain that the Capaldi era was kinda doomed when Day of The Doctor dropped.
That episode is such a perfect exit point for any casual viewer as it wraps up a seven season long arc for the character rather conclusively.
The general public did not really click with the Capaldi, Whittaker or Gatwa era.
It’s not really one person’s fault. It’s just something that’s sadly got worse over time leading to us now where it feels like the public has forgotten Doctor Who.

I just don't get how anyone could earnestly believe that Chibnall had something to do with the current state the show is in. Like just cause you don't like his episodes doesn't mean he's in any way responsible for what's currently going on.
Big Finish retroactively making Cass a companion of the Doctor makes the Night of the Doctor 10x more bleak and tragic. Only Doctor and companion to die together.
If #DoctorWho ever does return, I can easily see it being transformed into a #Sherlock style 3x90 minute Special event-series. They'll air in November close to the Anniversary, with a Christmas Special a month later.
Each special will be like a movie. Audios can fill the gaps.
Doctor Who won't be around for a few years, so it's time to delve into the back catalogue. I've done a little introductory Survival (ha) guide from audios and novels to comics, and also talking about some cool fan projects that are going on out there! :D

Pretty fucked up that Toy Story 3 is a movie largely about how 15 years have passed since Toy Story came out and 16 years later Bonnie is still like 5 years old.
dude the twitter convo since yesterday has just been "YOU OWE CHIBNALL AN APOLOGY" and people following up with "UH NO YOU OWE MOFFAT AN APOLOGY" are we gonna make our way backwards until we owe john nathan turner an apology?
🚨 There's never been a better time to start listening to Big Finish Doctor Who audio drama. Especially the FREE stuff. Find out how here: bgfn.sh/freeintro
ALT The TARDIS in a vibrant cosmic landscape with swirling colors and patterns in the shape of an ear.
I fucking hate it on this planet. People are all about the importance of being progressive and inclusive until someone makes TV they don’t like and then it’s time for them to crack out the slurs.
And 100 bloody likes! I’m appalled.
I will never advocate erasing an era or Doctor, regardless of my thoughts on them. I just think it's disrespectful to all who worked on or invested time in them. This mentality is self-defeating; if we start cutting off eras where fans think it went wrong there'd be no show.
Now BBC @russelldavies63& #Badwolf confirm no Xmas special of #DoctorWho while it has well earned rest as in 1989 - 2005 we can enjoy 1963 - 2025 of this incredible show audios 2 !The 2 ❤️❤️ have not stopped beating , it will be back I just know it ❤️
at the end of the day, doctor who is a show that has kinda always been fighting to survive, and it's really been struggling for the past five years now
I'm shocked we got as much content as we did! And honestly, for it's ups and downs, I'm glad we got what we got :)
