1: De commissie van Rijn stelde in 2019 dat de solvabiliteit van universiteiten (veel) te hoog is en beval aan dat begrotingen scherper moeten. Hoe verhoudt dat zich tot de huidige financiële zorgen?

2: Een argument voor meer bekostiging, is dat de bekostiging onvoldoende is meegegroeid met het aantal studenten. Maar als het aantal (internationale) studenten afneemt, leidt dit tot meer zorgen over bekostiging? Is de enige mogelijke trend dan meer studenten en meer middelen?

Probleemstelling van rapport Align, act, accelerate over Europese positie in wetenschap, technologie en innovatie. Europa legt het af op indicatoren aantal top 1% geciteerde publicaties, aantal AI publicaties en aantal patenten. E&W-beleid wil dit juist minder stimuleren?

De EU zet ook in op responsible research assessment beleid. Maar je kan toch moeilijk beleid voeren dat kwantitatieve indicatoren verwerpt voor onderzoekers, en vervolgens diezelfde dalende indicatoren gebruiken om geld te vragen voor onderzoekers?
