On Tuesday evening, Maynard Police and Fire in Massachusetts responded to a call at Mill Pond from a resident reporting their dog, Rufus, had fallen into a hole in the ice. The Maynard Police Drone Unit launched a drone over the ice to guide Maynard Fire Group 4 as they launched a full ice rescue. With Captain Michael Parr in command, Firefighters Keagan Sheridan and Ed Wasiuk entered the water, and Firefighters Josh Schrader and Captain Travis Gross remained ashore to man the tenders. Within ten minutes, Rufus was pulled out of the water and back in his owner's arms.
