Hopeful news from the world’s largest cancer research meeting @ASCO 💚 New research suggesting some patients may be able to safely skip chemo or avoid more extensive surgery. A fresh approach to brain metastases. And growing evidence that movement matters during treatment. Progress like this is why we keep showing up.

The world's largest cancer research meeting just wrapped in Chicago @ASCO Here are 5 treatment advances people were talking about from a pancreatic cancer drug that nearly doubled median survival, to long-term breast cancer data, to targeted therapies moving earlier in lung cancer. Watch for where treatment is heading.

Survivorship isn't something you're meant to navigate alone. This National Cancer Survivors Month, survivors treated talk about the new family you find within the survivor community and why, even after treatment ends, leaning on each other matters more than ever. Promising research from Dr. Sarbajit Mukherjee at #ASCO26: A phase I study found that neoadjuvant chemokine modulation in resectable metastatic colorectal cancer was safe, feasible, and associated with immune changes in the tumor microenvironment that warrant further study. @Sarbaji85064063
Can we systemically reprogram the tumor microenvironment before surgery? Excited to present our work at #ASCO2026 on a novel chemokine-modulating regimen in resectable metastatic colorectal cancer. Building on years of translational research with Dr. Pawel Kalinski, this study explores reshaping the tumor microenvironment to promote anti-tumor immunity. Key findings: ✅ Safe and feasible neoadjuvant approach ✅ Increased CD8 ratios and favorable intratumoral chemokine changes These early results suggest that systemic modulation of the tumor microenvironment may strengthen future immunotherapy strategies. @ASCO @BaptistHealthSF @MiamiCancerInst @UPMC #CRC #Immunotherapy #TranslationalResearch #GIOncology

Proud to see Dr. Sarbajit Mukherjee, chief of GI medical oncology, for presenting new data from 1,517 phase III solid-tumor trials showing women’s authorship has improved over the past decade, but gaps persist in senior authorship and vary by tumor track. We're proud to see important work advancing equity in oncology research. Well done, @Sarbaji85064063! #ASCO26
🚀 ASCO 2026 is officially underway! Excited to kick off the meeting by presenting our study on authorship trends in Phase III solid tumor clinical trials presented at #ASCO from 2015–2025. Grateful to @ASCO for selecting our work and to @AzzaSarfraz and our medical students at @FIU for their incredible contributions that made this project possible. And this is just Day 1. Our GI Cancer team at @BaptistHealthSF @MiamiCancerInst will be presenting multiple posters and research updates throughout the meeting. More to come—stay tuned! @BrainTumorDoc @BrunaPellini @ZouinaS @sawyer_bawek @nihanakkoc #ASCO2026 #Oncology #CancerResearch #ClinicalTrials #GICancer

Grateful to @FoxNews for allowing me to share my thoughts on pancreatic cancer and on a drug that may meaningfully extend survival for patients. For decades, KRAS was the “undruggable” engine of PDAC. Seeing RAS-directed therapies finally move the needle is a watershed moment for our field. At @MiamiCancerInst @BHCancerCare @BaptistHealthSF, we’re excited to build a precision-therapy clinical trials program so every GI cancer patient has a chance to access molecularly targeted options close to home. noticias.foxnews.com/health/… #PancreaticCancer #GIOnc #PrecisionOncology #KRAS #ClinicalTrials #RASOn
