Most SaaS founders blame the market when growth stalls. @asmartbear says the real ceiling is almost always self-inflicted. His MicroConf US 2026 talk breaks down the three forces quietly capping your growth, and they're all fixable. (Link in 🧵)

💯 One of our favorite sessions from MCEU 24. Watch the full recording here: youtube.com/watch?v=kxfSZzKC…

I used to have a long blame list for why I wasn't succeeding. “I grew up in an immigrant family.”  “I didn't have enough money.”  “The market changed on me.”  “My idea was great but nobody understood it.” And then I realized the common denominator in all of it was me. When I changed, my business changed. When I changed my mentality and what I did every day, everything shifted. If you're doing $1 Million and want to get to $10 Million, the person running a $10 Million business is not who you are right now. Otherwise you'd already be there. Take ownership.  It's your fault.  And that's actually the most empowering thing you can hear. What should I talk about at MicroConf Iceland this fall? I’m looking for ideas for a 35-minute main-stage talk. A couple constraints: • No early-stage validation or “how to launch” topics • No AI talks, I’ve covered that ground plenty What are you thinking about these days? What’s a topic you’d want me to unpack? (Even if you’re not attending, the talk will be on YouTube a few months after the event.)

AI generated apps killed three SaaS moats founders relied on for a decade, but four moats got stronger. DNSimple founder Anthony Eden broke down which is which at MicroConf US 2026. (YouTube link in thread 🧵👇)

Which means: → The cost of producing code is dropping. → The cost of producing good systems is rising. AI becomes the application layer, while SaaS becomes the infrastructure. Founders who already built durable businesses are positioned better than they think.

Amanda's framework for founders with no marketing team: 1. Pick 2-3 channels your audience actually uses. 2. Publish 1-2 zero-click assets per week. 3. Adapt one insight across formats natively. 4. Test distribution, not just ideas. 5. Review monthly, repeat what works.
