Nice work that managed to date lower-crustal fossil #earthquakes from Lofoten for the first time, combining U-Pb on apatite with #EBSD and CL. Lower-crustal faults and shear zones are preferential fluid conduits in the otherwise dry lower crust even long after they formed

🚨Nice piece of work collaboration with @deep_carbon. In a nutshell, methane and hydrogen rich fluids can produce fluid overpressure, potentially leading to subduction zone earthquakes, more easily than just aqueous fluids.
