What strikes me is how much the relationship between patients and medicine has changed. There was a time when treating pain and nausea at home wasnโ€™t viewed with suspicion. Today, many patients feel like they have to prove theyโ€™re suffering before theyโ€™re allowed relief. No one should have to choose between untreated pain and being treated like a criminal.
