The Cleveland Guardians are calling up former No. 1 overall pick Travis Bazzana, sources tell ESPN. Bazzana, 23, hit .287/.422/.511 in 24 Triple-A games this season and will take over at second base for a Guardians team that's a half-game back of first in the AL Central.

The neuroscience behind hitting is something that has fascinated me a ton over the past year or so. Approach will NEVER be perfect. It's a pitcher's job to create deception. They're going to throw pitches you aren't looking for in various counts. But, the less decision making your brain has to do, the quicker it can tell your body how (and when) to move.

Fewer choices = More Clarity. More Clarity = Conviction. Conviction leads to results. I haven't even begun to scratch the surface of all of this, but am looking forward to continuing to dive in. Would love to hear from anyone about their thoughts and research on this!
