Los Angeles, 15-year-old Clara Daly from California, was travelling with her mom.
A flight attendant asked if anyone knew sign language. Clara, who had studied ASL for about a year, volunteered.
The passenger was 64-year-old Tim Cook, who is deaf and blind, flying alone. Clara knelt in the aisle and fingerspelled into his hand to communicate. She helped him order water, check the time, and speak with the crew.
For the rest of the long flight, she stayed with him, chatting until landing and bringing comfort to his journey.

Believers. I haven't asked for your prayers in some time, but I would appreciate it now. This week my wife will be starting chemotherapy. We're hopeful it will be effective. She's doing well and will even be able to work, but I still wanted to make this request. Thank you.

Question for AI advocates. I’m seeing a lot of pushback against data centers due to noise pollution and water pollution/usage. I know these are for more than AI but it seems to contribute for their need. I’m wondering if you can be a good stewards of environment and still use AI.

And I’m still learning about this, so maybe this is being overblown. I’m also not what you’d call an environmentalist(I do care about having a clean environment, though), but what I hear about the noise and water usage concerns me.

Anyone know a printer who can make minicomics this size and these dimensions. They’re basically a quarter size of 8.5x11. These were glued but I’d be okay with staples. I’m toying with some ideas.

I’m reading the original Conan stories for the first time and enjoying more than I thought I would (not sure what I was expecting), but I was surprised at how Howard jumps around the timeline of his life. Is there any other characters in literature where the creator does this?

A few days ago I was thinking, “Aw man! Gas prices are going to keep me from seeing the only movie I’m interested in this year.”
Today: “With these gas prices I can’t be bothered with going to the movies. Oh well. I’ll catch it on Tubi at some point.”

Nicholas Galitzine on his He-Man character in the upcoming Masters of the Universe film:
"Without spoiling too much, I think there is a modernity to him that is really interesting.
It feels like who he is as a person is a handshake between what traditional masculinity and femininity are, and I think it is very exciting to be able to play that in such a huge studio movie."
This is a bad sign for this film isn't it?

I’m just spitballing here (and apologies for getting political) but what if we all (at least everyone tired of the last few admins) voted Libertarian for a few years? If Ls win how much worse could it be? If an establishment party barely wins at least a message has been sent.
