The best idea the Forerunner Trilogy retcons give to Halo is, afaik, never actually stated in the canon at all. The Keyship to the Ark on Earth is on the homeworld of Humanity's strongest ally before the Rings.

And, as far as I am aware, they have done nothing to highlight this officially that Humanity's greatest enemy and what nearly drove them to extinction were those same aliens. The Keyship is just described as being there coincidentally with no plan involved.

Biggest problem with Sprint in Halo despite all I've said against it is that I do think Sliding in Halo is a way to spice up and add interesting pathing to maps that don't fuck with the flow or size or engagement speed. There's no easy way to add Sliding without Sprinting.

Problem is I think Star Wars would be a better setting if they extended the war to a decade, had it occur naturally, and then had the reveal that Dooku and Sidious slipped inside and took it over from both sides of the conflict. It'd give legitimacy to the CIS way more.

Some SW fans can't grasp that the war was a false flag run by DARTH SIDIOUS and DARTH TYRANUS with the purpose of killing Jedi, giving SIDIOUS more power and installing Empire. They gaslit themselves into thinking a Sith Lord, who did 50 heinous acts in AotC alone, is a good guy.
