Talking about Andor with Star Wars fans is like trying to give a Michelin starred dinner to a toddler whose parents let them eat candy for every meal

George Lucas’s imagination is so limited his idea for unique planets is just “here’s Tunisia” or “here’s Norway”
Dan Gilroy's imagination is limited so his idea of unique planets is just "oh here's the Scottish Highlands" or "here's a planet full of wheat." This isn't a problem unique to him as all of Disney's Star Wars has it but it showcases a creative bankruptcy across the board.

“George W Bush lover” Lmao of course you wouldn’t like Andor. You are a conservative.
The reason Andor is aging poorly for me is because I realized the Empire is insanely incompetent in the show and it ruins the whole "actually evil serious threat" thing In the prison Cassian was through in there were a total of like 30 guards in the entire complex, which was a vital slave labor source for the most important industrial project the Empire was undertaking The Empire sent more soldiers to antagonize Ferrix during Aunt Petunia's funeral because they are mustache twirling saturday morning villains instead of a serious entity

It's really funny how whenever Star Wars accidentally creates something good people start saying it must be from a different series actually

Andor is spiritually nothing. It’s a cold sci-fi show that thinks itself above the source material. It has more in common with Battlestar: Galactica or The Expanse than Star Wars.

“A plain unmodified so” * gets show now it’s different* “Yep looks pretty much the same” No, you don’t get to move goalposts. You said *unmodified* it is clearly modified. And Tony doesn’t hate Star Wars bruh stop lying to yourself.

Yep looks pretty much the exact same. Just removing the mag would have mad a world of difference. But then again this is Andor were talking about. Made by a guy who doesnt even like Star Wars. It shows.

I bet you had no idea the new ISB blaster introduced in Andor S2 was used a MP-40 as a base. “Andor could never” Have you ever thought they there was a reason they used an AK platform for thematic purposes.
Replying to @6ucket @matpolloy
Much much better. Andor could never do something like this.

Well one is one of the most well made written dramas of the last 20 years. Perfectly unfolding in 24 episodes. The other desperately needed a writers room, and needs to drop the 8 episode format and has huge structural issues.
Choose one…

Can't decide if Perrin is the Denethor of #StarWars or if Denethor is the Perrin of #LOTR.

Andor is closer in tone to the original trilogy than the sequels, mostly because the creative team isn't neurotically obsessed with maximizing Audience Engagement. It's just a dude (Tony Gilroy) exploring his interests and influences in a commercial context. It's pure Star Wars
Star Wars Andor fans are, at heart, perpetual tweenage adolescents who are embarrassed at still liking a kid’s property, want to be treated like Serious Intellectuals, and so they turn to the Shadow the Hedgehog version of the story that’s clearly embarrassed of its origins.
