We've canceled tonight's Winter Meltdown event. As much as I look forward to it each winter, and as excited as I was about our guests and getting together to talk baseball, I believe it's the correct decision. We hope everyone understands. Stay strong and stay safe, Minnesota.

If you want a single answer for why fentanyl deaths dropped in the US, it's Narcan, a drug that saves people from opiate overdoses. Biden's FDA allowed it to be sold OTC in 2023, which is just when this decline begins. The chart only goes to late 2024. May interest you @Noahpinion, @cremieuxrecueil, @johnarnold
This is an impressive chart.

Tapper: Those are officers being attacked on Jan 6th? By this standard, would any of those officers be justified in shooting and killing the people, causing them physical harm? Noem: When people are physically harming them, they have the authority to arrest those individuals. Tapper: The president pardoned every single one of them. Noem: President Trump has been so focused on is making sure that when we're out there, we don't pick and choose which situations are in which laws are enforced and which ones aren' Tapper: I just showed you video of people attacking law enforcement officers. Undisputed proof, undisputed evidence. And I just said President Trump pardoned all of them. And you said that President Trump is enforcing all the laws equally. It's just not true. There's a different standard for law enforcement officials being attacked. If they're being attacked by trump supporters. We just saw that.

They're riling regular people up more, being more aggressive, and eventually someone is going to get pushed so far by these videos and interactions that they fight back with the same force or more... ...and then when something bad happens to an ICE agent, the current administration is going to act like it was a plan by whoever is pushed too far and acts out on these untrained and ill-equipped ICE agent thugs who they promise are "absolute immunity" to and empower in these awful moments. Social media is fueling all of it, just as both sides are hoping it will, too. Then, the administration's incompetent, uneducated, and sociopathic drove of cult members will regurgitate the rhetoric the administration spews and the whole fascist regime will try to dominate and control more elements of daily lives, media, laws, religion, and more. A tweet like this, a simple opinion based on what is happening, being shown, and being said on a daily basis today will probably be cited as a problem as freedom of speech is struck down by the party which claimed they were so pressed about it when the left didn't want them saying racist shit and they continue to demonize Americans who don't want to see people shot in the face by masked cowards of any variety, let alone government-funded losers who whisper, "fucking bitch," after doing so. It's clear as day to anyone who is remotely capable of sensing a pattern or motive and actually observing a fact, trusting their own eyes, and form individual thoughts that we're in a terrible place and going in a worse direction. But, hey, how much do your eggs cost?

Athlete: Coach… I think I want to quit. Coach: Okay. Then let’s talk about why. Athlete: I’m tired. All the early mornings, the pain, the pressure. Sometimes I wake up and wonder what I’m even doing this for. Coach: That’s not quitting. That’s being human. Doubt shows up when you’re close to something that matters. Athlete: But I’m not even sure I’m good enough. I look around and see people stronger, faster… happier. Coach: Comparison is a liar. It shows you everyone’s surface but hides their struggle. You don’t need to be better than them. You need to be better than yesterday. Athlete: What if I never win? What if I give everything and still fall short? Coach: Then you’ll walk away with something most never touch—truth. The kind you only find when you’ve emptied yourself for something bigger than comfort. Athlete: So… you think I should keep going? Coach: I think you already know the answer. You wouldn’t be having this conversation if you truly wanted to stop. You just want someone to remind you that it’s worth it. Athlete: It hurts, Coach. Some days, it really hurts. Coach: Good. That means you care. And nothing worth having comes without pain. Now breathe. You’ve made it through every hard day so far. Most quit before the breakthrough! Don’t be like most!

NYT: In the last four months alone, immigration officers have fired on at least nine people in five states and Washington, D.C. All of the individuals targeted in those shootings were, like the woman killed on Wednesday, fired on while in their vehicles. In each case, officials have claimed that the agents fired in self-defense, fearing they would be struck by the vehicle. At least one other person died as a result of those shootings. nytimes.com/2026/01/07/us/ic…
