The Little Terns at Beacon Ponds have made a remarkable recovery, but they need urgent help to thrive in 2026. Your support can fund a professional warden, ensuring these birds are protected from threats. Please share and contribute if you can! gofund.me/fa5ae2604

It would be a great shame for the project not to go ahead having been running for last 30 years. Having been a volunteer and a warden there I know how important protection of the colony is, it may well fail all together without wardening gofund.me/bb9d9d7c8

Spot the little owl!👀It was soaking in the warm rays of the evening sunshine on a freezing New Year's Day in Queensbury, West Yorkshire. It had been sheltering in gaps of the old stone wall the previous day, away from the bitter wind of one of the highest villages in England!

This time, the washes were ready! 🦢✅ After a 570km U-turn north to Aberdeen, likely due to low water at the Ouse Washes, the same swan has migrated south again & arrived to restored, higher levels. Bird movements continue to show wetlands steer migration decisions in real time.
🦢 What a swan’s 570km U-turn could tell us about water, wetlands, and a changing climate.... linkedin.com/posts/kane-brid…

Fieldfare, stonechat and wren from a frosty autumnal morning at Gowy Meadows the other day. The site seems to be holding a good number of thrushes with double digit redwings and fieldfares for the last couple weeks. @CAWOSBirding @CheshireWT
