Dear Keyboard Warrior,
The disrespect is astounding — truly.
Imagine being so personally offended by a woman talking about her lived experience that you write an entire rage-poem full of fantasies about her bank account.
Let’s clear a few things up before you sprain something:
•Being successful doesn’t mean you never faced racism. That’s not how reality works. Oprah exists — racism still exists.
•Book deals aren’t charity. Michelle Obama didn’t “get” a multimillion-dollar deal; she sold millions of books. That’s called a market.
•The Netflix deal wasn’t handed to them “because they’re the Obamas.” It was part of Netflix’s expansion into political and cultural docu-storytelling. And spoiler: it brought Netflix huge numbers.
•They didn’t leave the White House richer “because they slithered in.” They wrote books, gave paid speeches, and built a production company. In other words: they worked.
•Owning property isn’t a crime. And a shocking number of presidents — including the last one — have used office to promote their own businesses. Funny how that never bothers you.
But let me wrap this up since your meltdown is getting embarrassing:
Michelle Obama talking about the realities of being a Black woman in America does not erase her success, nor does her success erase the realities she’s speaking about.
Both things can be true — unless your worldview is built entirely on Facebook memes and resentment.
If your argument is basically:
“How dare she acknowledge systemic issues when she’s successful!”
…then please apply that same logic to every billionaire who complains about taxes, every politician who whines about the ‘deep state,’ and every influencer who posts “life is hard” from a private jet.
I know consistency is hard, but try.
Until then, maybe sit your ungrateful, chronically offended self down, touch some grass, and stop embarrassing the entire internet.
