The 51st GB Meeting of Skill Council for Mining Sector (SCMS) was successfully convened on 29th May 2026 in hybrid mode at the SCMS Office, New Delhi. The meeting was chaired by Dr Pankaj Satija, Chairman - SCMS & Executive Vice President - Corporate Affairs , JSW groups

Proud to share that SCMS, in partnership with Adani Skills & Education, is advancing skill development in mining trades at Surguja. The first Mine Electrician batch has been successfully completed, and the Mine Welder batch has now commenced at SAKSHAM.

At IMFA, women from local communities are steadily stepping into roles traditionally seen as unconventional, including operating heavy mining equipment. Through focused training, hands-on learning, and a strong emphasis on safety, they are gaining the confidence and technical expertise needed to participate meaningfully in the workforce. Representatives from the @MiningSSC participated in a Capacity Building and Awareness Workshop for Awarding Bodies, organized by the @NCVETIndia , MSDE, GoI & Training under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, India, GoI, on 7th April 2026 at Kaushal Bhawan.

SCMS participated in the Managing Committee Meeting of the Federation of Indian Mineral Industries (FIMI) held on 2nd April 2026 at FIMI House.

Under this partnership, a 2 1 day RPL NSQF-aligned training program was conducted for the existing workforce of Thriveni Earthmovers & Infra Pvt. Ltd.. The first batch of Dumper Tipper Operator training at the COE was successfully completed on 14 March 2026.
