⛏ Latest data from @ABSStats shows private mineral exploration in #SouthAustralia is at an 11-year high, with $64.2 million spent on exploration in the March 2023 quarter. Exploration is mainly focused on Copper, Base Metals, Iron Ore, Uranium & Gold: lnkd.in/gfKicQsu
I’ve just learned from SACOME @Mining_EnergySA that the former CE of the Department of Mines Mr Keith Johns OAM has died. A pioneer that helped build this states resources sector & delivered untold wealth to our states treasury. God Rest him.
Our 2021-22 Economic Contribution Report found Direct spending amounted to $5.3 billion and $431 million provided to State Government in royalties and taxes (from just 15 resource companies).
