Not necessarily obscure (and well known to Slavic fans imo), but Nenad Krstic @krle12 was a REALLY great player for the Nets and ended up having a really long career despite a pretty bad injury. Going to use this as an opportunity to give him a hat tip as a fan of his. The Nets big 3 of Vince Carter, Jason Kidd, and Richard Jefferson were fun to watch in the mid 2000s… But you have to appreciate Nenad Krstic, how he became a clutch shooter, and then imo elevated the Nets as a key player to their best team in the 2000s (I know they made the Finals in the early 2000s). He was an early example of using a center to provide needed spacing. Absolute money jump shot in some games that even reminded me of Dirk at times. And that 2005-2006 Nets teams included the 49 win non-Finals peak in the 2000s. Just ran into a juggernaut with DWade and Shaq… but they won the first game of the semifinals and if a few things go different, the Nets force that easily to a game 6… and then, you never know. The Heat went on to win the Finals, but that Nets team was amazing. Then, he had a torn ACL in 2006-2007. Came back in an era where this wasn’t as easy as it is now from a medical standpoint and finished a really solid NBA career with OKC (50 win team) and Boston (a 56 win team). Guy ended up having a lot of deep runs with great teams as a strong starter in the beginning of his career before coming back from injury to have a really great role player extension to his career. Then, went over to CSKA Moscow and won a bunch of titles… They literally won 3 straight Russian league championships… aka he was part of a dynasty. Those teams well in the Euroleague as well. Add in his contributions to the Serbian national team for more or less a decade too…. Nenad Krstic was a really good player with a unique and interesting career imo.

It definitely feels like a legal trap. I agree. And if this if Bryan chooses to tap out here, I wont be upset. His dad is 83 and not in great health. Unfortunately this dragged out could be he passes away before knowing what happened. So if Bryan taps out - I’m not mad. I doubt he will, but maybe. Either way, they are still going after Ben, and we have the Fork Police to deal with. This became a much larger issue than Bryan and his Father getting their money or LEGO at this point. And while Ben may face some actual charges and they may stick, none of that changes the case he can build against BAM and the police. And Ben will take small jail time or fines, to hold these guys accountable. Once the police did what they did, Ben is now the central figure here. Bryan is going to be alright. Ben’s gofundme got him his money and more - including money he can use to fight legally should he want too. Ben has gotten some good support as well on Patreon and such and the moment Ben publicizes that they are going after him or he’s going after them even harder - the influx in public funding to pay for the best lawyers to take their asses down will be astronomical. The police better realize what they did. They kicked the hornets nest. Nobody world wide is okay with a 100% corrupt department and if millions are needed to take them down, that’s exactly what will happen. We all know about individual bad or corrupt officers right? But entire departments is wild. Because that starts at the top. Burn it down Ben. Do not let them get away with this.

I agree. It actually makes sense to me. Have you seen how much stresses ages Presidents and other world leaders over history? That’s essentially what Obi-Wan was on a larger scale… multiple times for philosophies as well as worlds more or less across the galaxy. And then factor in the climate and location… I can easily see him aging fast and not very gracefully..

I try to reply to people (who seem real / not bots), but sometimes I miss someone who leaves a good comment. Cody Bellinger has proved he is probably worth the contract this season so far (although he ended up getting paid $162.5M). How I was thinking about it at the time (back in January) is that the Yankees are only going to commit to spending so much money per season. $275M is the current 2026 payroll. You're right that none of this is my money! I want the Yankees to spend $500M or a billion dollars if I had my way as a fan... But I know they realistically are going to end up at around $250-$350M probably over the next several years, so committing an extra $40M over a 5 year period isn't the end of the world, but the Yankees saved over the life of the contract ($162.5 M vs $200M he was angling for) enough so that the money could go towards other needs for the team. I WANT as much of that saved money going towards free agents and team development as possible. I do not desire that to just be "growth" or money in the owner's pockets. Again, I'm fan. The team also can just use that to juice profits / choose not to spend the extra money at all. I think it's important as fans to not blindly defend the team being cheap / not paying someone, but it's not irrational for me to say that I want them to resign Cody Bellinger but understand the restrictions it might impose on future signings. Would those be worth it? At $162 M / how we've seen Cody Bellinger perform this year, hell yeah... I want that player signed. At $200M, he still would be worth the contract as he is proving this year, but it would restrict some things the Yankees would do whether we like it or not as fans. I give 0 turtle shells about making the Steinbrenners richer or something. But I do want the best team possible for years to come. There's a balance. Pressure some rationality is where I land on it as a fan.
