Mamdani's ticket was sold directly by the Knicks organization to him at a special rate reserved for 'friends of the Knicks.' The mayor purchasing that ticket was illegal...and that is not debatable. Further investigation is needed to determine whether the Mamdani received preferential treatment at today's soccer match. Given that Governor Hochul was seated next to him, it is difficult to imagine they didn't receive discounted tickets not available to the general public.
