Infiltration fieldwork: A popular activity to do on the school site. Students enjoy timing water as it enters the ground! You only need tennis ball / crisp tubes, stopwatches and measuring cylinders (cheap to buy from science 2 education). Link above. #geography #geographyteacher

In the study students who received their grades at the same time as their feedback made almost no real improvement in a later assignment. Where students who received their feedback and then grades after a three-day delay performed 21% better.

I used to print maps to teach the distribution of earthquakes and volcanoes. Not only did this cost money (colour printing😆) but I never really felt that students grasped what I wanted them to. So after watching videos mainly @lcgeography (thank you!) I now use GIS! 🧵

Some craic with #PrimaryGeography adapting Guess Who games to focus on map reading skills -mountains of Ireland, countries of Europe, etc. Using locational language and geographical questions, map reading to guess the correct answer 💪💪👌 children can adapt & make their own 🌍
