Yes. According to the Gospels, Jewish religious leaders (chief priests and elders of the Sanhedrin) were responsible for plotting Jesus' death, condemning him, and pressuring Pilate to crucify him.
Matthew 26:3-4: The chief priests and elders plotted to arrest Jesus by stealth and kill him.
John 19:6: They cried out, "Crucify him, crucify him!"
John 19:11: Jesus told Pilate the one who handed him over has the greater sin.
