Year 21 has been successfully completed. Seeley-Swan High School was highly rewarding, thanks to the team's supportive nature and inclusive environment. I want to think the ones who never stopped supporting me when times were hard while others ghosted me.

It’s not about me, it’s about us! The most successful teams, and people, have a Team > Me attitude. What you do can’t be all about you. If you rely on yourself alone, when you fail, it will crush you. It’s the old adage, “If you want to go far, go together; if you want to go fast, go alone.” The truth is people get further by going together. When everyone is rowing the same direction, the boat moves swift and smooth. When just one person decides not to do their part, or focus on just themselves, the boat gets off course and fights rougher water. Don’t be all about yourself. Resist the urge for personal glory and sacrifice for what is best for the team/organization. Go be great!

This is real and I encourage all educators, no matter your role in a school, to really, really think about this. I regret how much my daughter lost out on her mother because I was so tied up in work and exhausted every single moment. She didn’t deserve what she dealt with having a stressed out, burnt out, anxiety ridden mom. I spend every day taking care of my grandson hoping to make it up to her. However, as I granny nanny I reflect too often that I should’ve given her all this time and attention.

Parents for the love of god please stay out of your son or daughters dugout. Players, stop going to visit mommy and daddy during the game. You might as well go out on the field with an emotional support stuffed animal at this point it’s getting a little nuts. Get their water or whatever they need before the game you don’t need to visit each other 5 times a game and then wonder why they can’t do hard things on their own.
