We thought we got our boundary back. Let's fight Ford’s Bill 185. We need walkable neighbourhoods w/ mixed density bike lanes.

A new plan for the Hearn Generating Station in Toronto's Port Lands. Still conceptual, it would add res towers above and around the building while adding cultural uses and retail within. @svn_ap , @partisansarch , @ERAarch, CCXA on landscape.

Canada has just been threatened with annexation via “economic force” by our southern neighbour. Pretty sure carbon pricing is not the most important issue facing Canadians. #cdnpoli #canlab

This outrage from the residents in Stoney Creek about the impact a medium rise housing project will have on the character of the neighborhood is so perplexing to say the least. Housing within the urban boundary feels doomed.

Hope the City of #HamOnt or a non-profit gets first dibs. Sadly, if this was BC, the province would jump at the chance to help with affordability, but Ford has no plan for affordable homes, only incentives for developers to build McMansions.

Due to the impacts of Bill 23, pre-spending on infrastructure and other factors, Orillia’s development charges reserve fund currently sits at negative $22 million — though city staff say the reserve should be back in a positive position between 2030-2032. orilliamatters.com/local-new…

A vital part of preparing Canada for Trump's coming annexationist trade war: ensuring we can produce enough fruit, veg etc. to substitute for U.S. agricultural inputs. That means slamming the brakes on the sprawl that would otherwise eat up what remains of our good farmland.
Please see my statement regarding the Liberal Party of Canada’s upcoming leadership race:

This goes for DOMESTIC policy, too. Protect farmland & food processing infra on the basis that we can't rely on access to U.S. produce. Secure domestic, European or Asian backups for U.S. links in pharma & tech supply chains. Rapidly grow our domestic consumer base.
He's not wrong. Every country should set foreign policy as if America is unreliable and an entity to simply work around.

New York City’s introduction of congestion pricing marks a major step toward smarter, more sustainable urban mobility. It’s no surprise that people are already adjusting their travel patterns—this phenomenon has been well-documented over 20 years in cities like London and Singapore. I’m thrilled for New Yorkers and visitors alike, who will benefit from reduced traffic, cleaner air, and a more efficient city.

One minute of rush hour on Bloor in -10C weather on January 7th. 7 bikes and a skateboard using the bike lanes, 11 cars. 2 of which are blocking pedestrian crosswalks and causing gridlock.

1 month in hospital: $30k 1 month in prison: $10k 1 month in shelter: $7k 1 month in social housing: $4k The solution is clear, and so is the cost of inaction. The question is, which will we choose to pay for? theglobeandmail.com/opinion/… @globeandmail

All those but licking American wannabe’s like Doug Ford who think joining America is a good idea. Think again. This hospital visit for this lovely woman would cost $150,000.00 out of pocket. The only thing it didn’t cover was parking, the ambulance and some time. 👇video credit @unlearn16tweet 👇#UniversalHealthCare #DougFordIsCorrupt #ontario #dougford @SylviaJonesMPP

Between the historic districts and individually registered properties it's notable how much control over Philly's downtown elected officials cede to the Historical Commission. To offset these limitations rest of Center City ought to be liberally zoned (e.g. no parking minimums).

Never forget, when you’re being asked to prove that safe bike-lanes or pedestrian crossings across unsafe conditions are ‘needed,’ it's hard to justify a bridge by the number of people swimming across a raging river.

Canada was never racist. A short thread. In 1890 Vancouver City Council supported B. T. Rogers efforts to establish a sugar refinery in the city provided he did not employ any Chinese.

This video camera study showed that less than 5% of people on bikes broke traffic laws while riding, yet 66% of people did so when driving. And if you REALLY want even MORE bike-riders to obey laws, build more protected bike infrastructure. Via @carltonreid forbes.com/sites/carltonreid…

We need to defeat Ford. Get involved in a local riding association which CAN actually defeat an incumbent Conservative. You can send money, canvass/volunteer, or ask for a lawn sign or all 3. Let’s do this!
