Do you know you cant get an actual figure from Liverpool City Council on how many HMOs are now in the city boundaries, the link that once worked has been disabled that woukd give you that figure!

#liverpool #housing HMOs in Liverpool are regulated by Liverpool City Council through a combination of mandatory licensing (under the Housing Act 2004) and planning controls, including Article 4 Directions. These rules only apply to 7 people, 6 or less no licence needed.

Walking around L4 after another week, and it's the same story. More houses turned into HMOs packed with singke male adults emptying the hotels while families wait years on the list. Councils know exactly what and why they are doing it dumping people here because it's "cheaper.

I can confirm that I will be requesting the permission of the NEC to stand in the Makerfield by-election. I grew up in this area and have lived here for 25 years. I care deeply about it and its people. I know they have been let down by national politics. Ten years ago, I decided to leave Westminster. Why? Because, after 16 years, I came to the conclusion that our national political system does not work for areas like ours. I learnt this fighting its failure to invest in the Wigan borough, for justice for the Hillsborough families and against its treatment of Greater Manchester during the pandemic. Over the last decade, I have been challenging this failure from the outside and building a new and better way of doing politics. We have built Greater Manchester into the fastest-growing city-region in the UK and put buses back under public control, introducing a £2 fare cap to help people with cost-of-living pressures. However, there is only so much that can be done from Greater Manchester. Much bigger change is needed at a national level if everyday life is to be made more affordable again. This is why I now seek people’s support to return to Parliament: to bring the change we have brought to Greater Manchester to the whole of the UK and make politics work properly for people. Millions are struggling and they need the Labour Government to succeed. It has already made changes to make life better for them in its first two years. After this week, we owe it to people to come back together as a Labour movement, giving the Prime Minister and the Government the space and stability they need as the by-election takes place. I want to recognise the difficult decision taken by Josh Simons and the sacrifice he and his family are making. I have worked closely with him as Mayor on issues like flooding and illegal waste dumping and have seen first-hand how effective he has been. He has put the communities of Makerfield first, made a real difference for them and should take great pride in that. Finally, I truly do not take a single vote for granted and will work hard to regain the trust of people in the Makerfield constituency, many of whom have long supported our party but lost faith in recent times. We will change Labour for the better and make it a party you can believe in again. ENDS

Exclusive: Zack Polanski falsely claimed to be a spokesman for the British Red Cross while crowdfunding his campaign for deputy leader of the Green Party, @JamesSBeal reveals The Times has uncovered disputed claims among the past experiences listed on his former website and independent promotional pages They include his repeated assertion to have acted as a “spokesperson” for the British Red Cross, which he put on his site and two donation pages while running for deputy leader in 2022. He said he was "really proud of the work we do" The British Red Cross told The Times that Polanski “has not been a spokesperson” and said it had raised the claim with the politician’s team In response, the Green Party said Polanski had been a host “for several fundraisers for the British Red Cross” and had been on stage supporting their work thetimes.com/uk/politics/art…

One of Londons biggest landlords, Asif Aziz is being investigated for mass evictions. He has also being using a non existent electrician for safety certificates. Keir Starmer ordered an investigation. The housing minister thats investigating has his office across the road to the address used on the safety certificates. Turns out Asif is good friends with Sadiq Khan 🤔 The Aziz Foundation is a big funder of muslim community events such as the Ramadan lights. Aziz has also been described as the billianaire Labour donor 🤔

So let's get this straight. This is the deputy leader of the Green Party with his fully veiled wife, right? And the leader of the Green Party is the gay Jewish bloke who yesterday gyrated on stage with a load of men dressed in bondage gear. Which of these two loons is actually representative of the Green Party because it seems to me that, even at the top, they have absolutely no idea what they're about.

You want the NATO allies to join you in a war you started without ever consulting these allies about the war or explaining your war aims. We’re meant just to meekly fall in line. You recently supported a US invasion of a NATO ally (Denmark/Greenland) but now you want these same allies to join your war. Your president disparaged and misrepresented the role of NATO allies in Afghanistan. But now you want them to join with you again in a war of your making. You went to war with Iran without a thought of how to keep the Strait of Hormuz open and without involving your allies in the matter. But now you want the NATO allies to bail you out, even though there’s still no plan for Hormuz. You want the NATO allies to join you in a war in which you still cannot articulate the endgame. Or what victory would look like. You went to war thinking the Iranian regime would quickly topple, that Tehran would not attack the Gulf States or close Hormuz. Why would we align with such Epic Stupidity? You and other know-nothing blowhards started this war all on your own. You can finish it on your own. If you’re able to …
Just spoke to @POTUS about our European allies’ unwillingness to provide assets to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning, which benefits Europe far more than America. I have never heard him so angry in my life. I share that anger given what’s at stake. The arrogance of our allies to suggest that Iran with a nuclear weapon is of little concern and that military action to stop the ayatollah from acquiring a nuclear bomb is our problem not theirs is beyond offensive. The European approach to containing the ayatollah’s nuclear ambitions have proven to be a miserable failure. The repercussions of providing little assistance to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning are going to be wide and deep for Europe and America. I consider myself very forward-leaning on supporting alliances, however at a time of real testing like this, it makes me second guess the value of these alliances. I am certain I am not the only senator who feels this way.

Famous Northern Rātā in New Zealand’s South Island. Because it resembles an Ent from The Lord of the Rings, it’s known as the walking tree. In 2024, it was crowned New Zealand tree of the year.

I was waiting for something like this to happen, because you just knew it would. We are not officiated the same as the rest of the league. How many times has a VAR decision gone our way vs against? There are many examples, but here are a few that come to mind: - Romero goal disallowed for weak VDV push against West Ham - Goal disallowed at Sheffield United for a Lucas Moura “handball” when he was lying on the ground. - Newcastle penalty given for their player heading the ball down onto Eric Dier’s arm when he was facing the opposite direction. - Infamous penalty given to Liverpool in the #UCL final for a Sissoko “handball” that hit his armpit. - Skipp cleated in the head by Diogo Jota (RIP 🕊️). Checked and cleared by VAR. He goes on to score the winner. The standard of officiating is so poor. #THFC
The only thing consistent about Premier League officiating is its inconsistency
