In all the years I’ve been in DCL I’ve never once asked for a grant; never rugged the community or extracted, only added value. And now the one time I’m asking for some support (still no grant) I’m labeled as a grifter and I’m biting ideas lol. This is part of the problem with DCL and why people leave and never come back. It’s people in these little cliques within this already niche platform thinking they control what happens, who stays and who goes. And the community wonders “How do we get people here? We need user retention!” Meanwhile, Foundation is working their asses off to make DCL a more welcoming and user friendly place but it’s all in vain cause of the so called “gatekeepers” who try and hold on to whatever artificial power they can get. The ones who I’m speaking about know who they are, and so does the community. And this isn’t me bashing, just pointing out what I see from a returning players perspective. Someone who’s seen foul players, grifters, extractors come through, get all the support and dip; rugging me and the community. So before anyone casts judgement on me or anyone else new coming in trying to start something, check yourself first.
