I think about 75% of my students will have me for both Resource Algebra 1 and Resource World Geography.
I will be looking for every opportunity to use Algebra in World Geography and the reverse. 2026-2027 is going to be a great year.

Looking for the best short term state to teach in after retiring from Texas. Looking for 5 year vesting, pension, ease of license transfer, salary, taxes.
I seemed to have narrowed it down to 4 states.
Tennessee, Ohio, Virginia, Missouri.

Never known my schedule for the next year before the previous one ended until this year. Although I am wanting my conference period replaced with an Algebra 1 class that will have a blind student. It's being considered I am told.

We spend 1/6th the time teaching the area of a circle to 5th graders than Singapore does teaching there 5th graders. People making those decisions feel it's better to teach 6x as much.
A deeper understanding of less will always be better.

These will be a game changer for math teachers. POV grading and recording feedback to email to students and CCing parents. AI providing real time translation for beginning English learners and so many other possibilities.

As we fall further behind countries like China we just continue to do more of what we do bad. Every country ahead of us teaches less, with deeper understanding. We shove so much into our curriculums, students don’t learn anything well.
