In other news, educators gathered in Owensboro, KY these past 2 days for a special conference to sharpen their knowledge on teaching multilingual learners. Thanks to the Kentucky Coalition for English Learners for inviting me to keynote day 2 after @DrCarolSalva kicked off day 1, and thanks to all who attended. #KYCEL2025
Just finished my 20th year of teaching @Warren_Elem. I reminisced about the 17 years I’ve been at this building while celebrating the end of school with students and colleagues. Love this place so much, and I look forward to making new memories in our brand new building.
We have been using @VisibleLearning strategies from @CorwinPress to teach students @Warren_Elem how to respond to a writing prompt, and students are soaring!
Risk isn’t waiting for all the answers—it’s taking action despite not having them. Progress belongs to those willing to move forward even when the path isn’t fully clear.
My students were able to access grade level content with the support of cloze notes with a word bank and subtitles turned on. It was amazing to see them be so dependently successful! @Warren_Elem @anadibalic_
Honored to step into our 7th grade co-taught classroom today! The seamless teamwork between the ESL and content teacher was incredible; both were actively supporting academic language, with parallel teaching in action and 100% student engagement.👏 @D99Cicero@WIDA_UW#ESL
I’ve got my classroom library ready for the school year and couldn’t help but buy a few more new titles at the thrift store. Looking forward to the 24-25 school year @Warren_Elem!
