Anyone remember what finding a job during dot com period from 1999-2003 was like. H1B was expanded to 195,000 Silently and Unemployment in 2002 HIT 6% for Americans. Bush had to Extend Unemployment.
Jobs were impossible to find.

It took us till May 2025 to realize providing FHA Loans with only 3.5% down to H1Bs was VERY BAD. I'm seeing the Short Sales North of Austin NOW, had to leave country after few months, bank forced by rule to appraised amount though market is selling 100k lower. Unbelievable

Someone is trying to use my address to obtain EBT Cards. (FIS EBT CardPro) I received TWO in the mail for two names who I DO NOT KNOW. Sent to an address I've had for 31 YEARS.

President Clinton signed a law increasing H1Bs in 1998 to 115,000 and 2000 to 195,000.
Then the dot com bust happened.
They could NOT undo it. %@$!!
Truly a terrible time. Layoffs. Hard to find jobs. Maybe a contract at 20-30K lower salaries.
Destroyed my career.

The question you should be asking after reading this is how an Indian named Soham Parekh was able to land dozens of tech jobs while American citizens are being fired en masse and top American graduates aren’t even getting interviews.
