𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗔𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝘂𝗸𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮?
The comments from @a_mukuralinda, the Rwandan government spokesperson (
@RwandaOGS), regarding
@JamboAsbl and myself are both surprising and perplexing.
In defending the deal between the
#UK and
#Rwanda, he resorts to attacking critics by labeling them as genocide deniers. This tactic is nonsensical and seems designed to obscure the underlying reality. He implies that Jambo lacks credibility because we condemn the crimes committed against the Congolese and the Hutus in Rwanda and the DRC.
However, one must question: 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗔𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝘂𝗸𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮?
Long before the existence of Jambo or my initiation into activism for the recognition of forgotten victims, Alain Mukuralinda and his wife Martine Gatabazi co-founded and initiated the organization AVICA, "Assistance to Victims of Conflicts in Central Africa". They established it in Belgium while in exile, where they had sought and received refugee status after fleeing the massacres of the RPF, of which they were survivors.
Under Alain Mukuralinda's co-leadership, AVICA dedicated several years to diligently and effectively advocate for the recognition and justice for the RPF's forgotten victims in Rwanda and DRC, including pushing for the prosecution of RPF officers. Notably, it was largely due to the prolonged and dedicated work of organizations like AVICA that the Spanish judiciary was able to document the crimes committed by the RPF. This documentation played a crucial role in the issuance of arrest warrants against 40 RPF officers for crimes against humanity.
In reality, it is commendable actions like those of AVICA that, years later, inspired me to engage in similar efforts to pursue justice for all.
It should be noted that a few years after co-founding AVICA, Alain Mukuralinda underwent a dramatic transformation, especially during a period when he was unemployed in Belgium. It was then that he succumbed to the allure and financial incentives offered by the RPF. He began proclaiming the RPF as a blameless liberating force and denied the existence of any victims of their actions.
Regarding the
#Rwandabill, who should really be taken seriously between
#JamboASBL, which has been steadfast in its commitment for 15 years, and Alain Mukuralinda, who has managed to contradict himself within a span of a few years?
