This morning, I took another step toward a lifelong goal: I finished my first ever Ironman 70.3 (half Ironman) in Panama City Beach with a time of 6:56:17. I worked harder to train for this race than I ever have for anything, and I’m really proud of the result. My goal was to

finish, with sub 7 as a stretch goal that I didn’t think I would hit.
I feel especially thankful to get to race again with Chris: we did our first tri and first adult tris together, so this has been a great return to the tradition. I don’t know when, but I can’t wait to be back!

THE GREATEST RUN IN HISTORY 🤯
Sabastian Sawe takes OVER A MINUTE off the world record in the marathon and becomes the first-ever sub-2 hour runner in an official race with a 1:59:30 victory over Yomif Kejelcha, who also breaks two hours in his debut marathon, running 1:59:41 for second.
Sawe is now 4 for 4 with marathon victories. After the leaders hit halfway in 60:29, Sawe ran 59:01 FOR HIS SECOND HALF as he and Kejelcha worked together to drop third placer Jacob Kiplimo, who himself ran 2:00:28 to finish under Kelvin Kiptum’s old WR mark.
