Tulsi Gabbard was among the loudest proponents of Russia’s biolab conspiracy theory back in 2022 — so much so that Russian state media started calling her “Russia’s girl.” In one of her last moves as DNI, she revived that conspiracy theory once more. My latest for @BylineTimes:
🔴 Tulsi Gabbard Revives Russian Disinformation Campaign About Ukraine Biolabs — Caroline Orr Bueno As one of her last moves as head of the US intelligence community,Tulsi Gabbard propped up a Russian disinformation campaign that was used by the Kremlin… bylinetimes.com/2026/06/16/t…

The overly sensitive Russian dictator continues to murder his critics globally. Russian artist Semyon Skrepetsky, known for his sharp criticism of the Kremlin was reportedly shot dead in the Polish city of Biała Podlaska. According to Polish media reports, the attacker approached Skrepetsky in the parking area of a residential building and opened fire at close range. A suspect has reportedly been detained near the Belarusian Embassy, while investigators are also examining the possible involvement of a taxi driver who allegedly transported the attackers. Authorities have increased security around schools and kindergartens attended by his children. Reports also indicate that Skrepetsky's Telegram channel has disappeared. Born in Russia's Altai region as Robert Kuzovkov, Skrepetsky became widely known for political cartoons depicting Putin, Kadyrov, Lukashenko and Navalny. After relocating to Poland in 2021, he remained active in anti-Kremlin demonstrations across Europe.

The Russian dictator is now so paranoid that he had this Russian artist murdered in Poland for paintings like this. It'd be a shame if we made his works more popular than ever.

What happened to the magazine "Living Marxism" is actually relevant. They accused the war correspondent Ed Vulliamy of faking this image, were sued for libel, lost, and went bankrupt. This matters because Chomsky still cites the libellous article in his Bosnian genocide denial.

1/ In occupied Sevastopol, it's currently every man and woman for themselves in the face of the ongoing fuel shortages. Even Russia's anti-drone mobile fire teams are being abused by civilians who are angry that they're skipping the queue for gasoline. ⬇️

This is one reason the Ukrainians are fighting like hell to save their country. They know that if they lose, this is the fate that awaits many of them.
A Russian soldier kept Sofia, Ukrainian, for over a year as a sex prisoner — holding her in a flat with bars on the balcony, boarded-up windows, locked doors, and padlocks. He took her phone, left food, and returned there only to rape her — The Times. 1/

Hey, as an Irish politician have you considered not sending 14 ships full of alumina to Russia every month?
A stark reminder of what Ukrainians endure every single day. Air raid sirens. Missile attacks. Uncertainty. The resilience of the Ukrainian people remains extraordinary. Our commitment to supporting them must remain equally steadfast.

I read the ODNI report regarding the so-called Ukrainian biolabs, and it is almost entirely a rehash of publicly available information. The new data, which btw. also contains inaccurate maps of Ukraine, supplements publicly available data. There is not a single bombshell in it. Laboratories containing highly contagious and dangerous pathogens for humans and animals are the absolute normal in most countries around the globe. In Germany we have a range of them, with different biosafety levels. The laboratories in Marburg e.g. have a BSL-4, the highest maximum-containment level, and probably the best known one. Ukraine has not a single BSL-4 lab. Outgoing DNI Gabbard singles out Ukraine, regardless, trying to argue that the threat assessment is higher due to the ongoing war, which however has been started by Russia. Knowing that Russia is infamous for randomly destroying civilian objects, including healthcare institutes, makes the warning prudent at the first glance. The problem arises with Gabbard's framing. She not only conveniently omits this fact in her emphasis and tries to built a political case which does not exist, but also carefully refrains from pushing back against Russian lies of existing "bioweapons programs for offensive capacities". It is highly unlikely that this omission has been done by accident. There is no cover up. Virtually everything has been known. The report questions this not with one syllable. So why the fuss? Well, Gabbard's "departure" as DNI - despite counter claims - is probably not the result of her own choosing. The ongoing civil war in the MAGA bubble only found another victim, initially in a quiet manner. It also reminds us of former National Counterterrorism Center Director Joe Kent, who resigned in protest of the events around Iran. Gabbard is well known for being an "anti-interventionalist". In this capacity she is more of problem for Trump than for anyone else. The war in Iran defies everything what she believes in. I still remember when the US President said: "I don't care what she (Tulsi) says." I'm absolutely certain that she never forgot those words, but she is clever enough not to antagonize the President, while still formulating her protest by trying to set things on fire before leaving the building.
🧵 Here is the TRUTH: Dangerous gain-of-function research was funded by the U.S. government around the world, directed and approved by people like Dr Fauci. @DNIGabbard exposed that yesterday. Using U.S. government data, put together and uncovered by career subject matter experts in the Intelligence Community and other government agencies, yesterday’s release highlighted one example of the many overseas biolabs funded by the U.S., the research conducted there, and the significant risks they pose to the world, especially when located in a country at war. 🔗 dni.gov/files/BIOLAB_Slides.…

Hey dumbasses, “Biolabs” are research facilities, the type that track things like tick diseases. The US does fund them globally, including in Ukraine, that’s not a secret. Pretending it is a secret and pretending it’s something dangerous is a literal Russian talking point.
