What I find funniest out of this is the story goes that the defence minister basically said "We must cover ALL the railways in the south coast, the line between Romney and Dymchurch will be our defences!" ...of course no one had told him it was 15 inch gauge.
During WWII the British 6th Battalion of the Somerset Light Infantry operated the miniature train, which was supplied with lighter weapons such as two .55-inch Boys anti-tank rifles and four Lewis guns at Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway (RH&DR) in Kent.🫡
