I cannot imagine the personal sacrifice our veterans have made. Thank you to each and every one for their commitment to protecting and defending the ideals laid out in our Constitution. This American experiment would not be possible without you.
I have some exciting news to announce. After 20 years in museums, I will begin a new adventure this fall by joining the faculty at the Doge Family College of Arts and Sciences School of Library and Information Studies at the University of Oklahoma. π§΅
2) I will be teaching in their Master of Arts in Museum Studies program. There are a lot of people who have mentored me over the years, and now it is my turn to encourage the next generation of museum professionals.
I had a great time in DC advocating for museums and the importance of cultural institutions in communities. #museumadvocacy2025! I would like to personally thank @stephaniebice and @RepFrankLucas for personally taking time to meet with us!
Yesterday, I had the chance to attend a couple of committee meetings where museum related bills were being heard. While setting through both, I was reminded that no matter how crazy the news may be good things are happening at the state capitol.
I found a new favorite wondering the halls at the @OKStateCapitol for Museum Advocacy Day. The @OKArtsCouncil does a great job exhibiting our state art collection in the capitol.
It may be chilly today but itβs always a good day to advocate for museums! Looking forward to seeing friends and colleagues at the Oklahoma Museums Association Museum Advocacy Day.
.@RepFrankLucas Oklahoma was awarded more than 77 arts & humanities grants over the last 5 years. Please vote NO on slashing funding for the NEA & NEH.
