Venta is a self-taught artist, who, after studying art up to university level, found himself more drawn to the unbounded freedom and uniqueness of Naïve Art.
Driven by an intrinsic need to create, Venta has always felt a strong connection to the world of art. However, he felt somewhat alienated by the conventional norms of the physical art world, and instead found his true artistic home in the more open and connected spaces of the internet, and particularly in the web3 space. Web3 has provided him a foundation upon which he could build his own miniature world through his art, something he believes would not have been possible in any other environment.
Venta's artwork is characterized by its mirror-like representation of the world. Yet, his mirror is not a reflection of reality as we know it, but rather a distorted and contorted version of it that, despite its deviations from the norm, reveals a number of truths. He challenges the conventions of traditional art, disregarding the norms and rules that can often act as barriers to creativity. Instead, he focuses on crafting a novel space for the viewer to explore, using universal symbols and darkly playful imagery to depict common life situations in a new light.
Drawing from a diverse array of inspirations, including pop culture, classical art, internet culture, and video games, Venta infuses his digital paintings with fun, bright aesthetics. However, he also explores darker themes, presenting a surrealist view of the world that’s influenced by technology. His creative process is a continuous flow, often fed by the constant influx of media and images on the internet, as well as his experiments with AI.
He often begins his process by feeding his digital paintings to AI, prompting the machine to reimagine them through text. He then collages together multiple outputs from this process, refining them with additional digital painting and editing techniques.
Describing his work as 'childlike' is a compliment in Venta's eyes, as he believes children's art is as authentic as it gets. He aims for his art to be just as genuine, striking directly at the hearts and minds of his audience.
