We were there, rain or shine, today on Environment Day at Lakewood Academy in Glenwood, helping lay the foundation for the Giving Grove by spreading soil and planting apple, pear, and plum trees. This quaint orchard on the school’s grounds will offer hands-on learning opportunities for students while promoting environmental education and sustainability. It will also serve as a welcoming space that strengthens community connections and can be enjoyed for generations to come. Thank you to our employee volunteers and the school community for rolling up your sleeves and helping make this such an incredible day. This is one of five exciting projects supported by Newfoundland Power’s EnviroFest 2026 grant program. Learn more: newfoundlandpower.com/en/Abo…

A heartfelt thank you to teacher Bridgette Abbott, whose vision, planning, and dedication brought this project together.
