We are just wrapping up after a busy old week! This week we revalidated four level 1 commanders, who have shown us some good command skills and knowledge. The format for these revalidation’s is changing this month.
The sessions will be based on their feedback and data taken from their @EffectivCommand portfolios. Which each session tailored not only to our service objectives and trends, but also their personal needs.
It wasn’t appropriate to take photos at todays incident. We managed to snap this one of the air ambulance crew landing, but as we are terrible at taking photos. It’s actually a photo of a tree. We are completely ‘blown away’ (pun intended) by their professionalism.
This afternoon, our team along side the awesome crew from @DaventryFire attended a Road Traffic Collision. Excellent understanding of @jesip999 principles between our crew and blue light partners.
Also a shout out to one of their crew, who successfully passed his “Entry Control Board Operative” assessment with our training team at Chelveston! Well done. 👏
We are midway through our Officer development and update training! Some fantastic discussions around tactics, roles and command. After lunch we are moving on to some tricky exercises, designed to push, develop and challenge them.
We had a great day with our regional friends! It’s been a few years since we were all able to get together m. Massive thanks to Batch and John for hosting, professional as always.
The operational delivery of Exercise Freya is now completed. The command structure went from ‘Entry Control Operative’ through to the ‘Gold commander’ and our incredible partners! (Shown in this photos left to right)
A big thank you to everyone who took part, and helped make it possible. We all hope we never see an incident like this. But are assured that should it happen, we know what we are doing.
The final stage is our major debrief, which is being co-ordinated by our Joint Operations Team. This important phase makes sure we can learn any lessons, and better prepare for the future. #KnockOffMakeUp
While our exercise is taking place, using the latest technology our assessor Assistant Chief Fire Officer @robporters is remotely monitoring. All actions and briefings are being carefully scrutinised using a behavioural marking scheme. Candidate feedback planned for later today.
Tactical coordination group give an update to Fire Gold and the strategic group, confirming the number of fatalities, persons unaccounted for, and the structure of the now collapsed building.
Senior colleagues from @EMASNHSTrust have broken out from the meeting and are discussing the exercise. The first question they are asking “is this a mayor incident for us” and “do we need to implement special arrangements”. #Exercise
