Oakley composure and strength there were otherworldly Halves of 23.7 25.0 (rounding) here compared to 23.6 25.2 in the 48.92 at SECs 12.7 for 300-400m today was lethal.. made the difference.. for context, Sydney was 12.92 last year in the 47.78 at Worlds

Shawnti 9.7low (9.73e) on anchor.. my sources tell me headwind on backstraight (Hodge was flying on L2 and "only" 10.0 (would expect 9.7mid in current form with good handoff) Yeahhhh this 100m is about to be generational.....

Simms 42.99 on anchor for Georgia to cap off an incredible campaign (43.90 No.2 OAT U20 in the Open)
Jun 8
We could see some historic 4x400 relay carries this week Simms (43.12 and 43.29 legs this year) or Ogazi could join Pillay and Johnson in 42 club if they have to give chase. On Women's side Oakley could dip into 47s in similar situation (already run 48.37 anchor this year)

I might be overly optimistic, but I think Kayinsola Ajayi will go under 9.8s in the next two days. That African Record of 9.77s is in danger, and I reckon he is in a 9.75s shape. It might be pushing my luck too far, but 9.72s is attainable. No pressure, he will beat Watkins.

๐Ÿ“Š I created this chart back in 2011, using touchdown splits from the PB races of top athletes in both the 60m & 110m hurdles. It was a model built entirely on real-world data. Incidentally 7.32 = 12.75 Jaโ€™Kobe Tharpโ€™s 5th hurdle touchdown are indeed very close (~6.48-6.50)
Replying to @NLS_TF
Touch down at H5 was very similar for his 7.32 60m hurdles indoor. People donโ€™t realise that the WR should already be 12.7 or faster if Aries could have stayed healthy in 2013 or Grant managed to adapt step length for the last 4 hurdle units.
