Pleased to see the next step go smoothly as the MV Hondius arrived in the #Netherlands today. The remaining crew, who sailed the ship from the Canary Islands, will now begin a 42-day quarantine period, and the ship will undergo full cleaning and disinfection. There have been a total of 11 cases reported (9 confirmed, 2 probable), including three deaths. The latest confirmed case was also a passenger. The person was among those repatriated, and while under quarantine, developed symptoms and is now receiving clinical care. I thank all the countries and partners who have worked together on this #hantavirus response. Thanks also to captain Jan Dobrogowkshi for his leadership and close coordination with us throughout.
