My Architecture Studies and Practice: Site Placement
This is my house on my farm in Burma. Huts with Palm Leaf roofs. The perfect shelter. One of the amazing bonuses of having a “round timber” bamboo hut……you can pick it up and move it anywhere you like. As an architect exploring site placement, spacial relationships, etc…..it gave me the chance to test theories I had about design, and placement. I could set the hut at an angle to the sun and elements, then live with it. Feel the sun, the prevailing winds, then…..adjust the hut. Pick it up and turn it, move it, adjust it……then put it back down. Live in it again. Practicing my abilities to fine tune spaces at the site placement phase of design. Studying architecture.
