After we endured an incredibly toxic mayoral race that could’ve been prevented with Ranked Choice Voting, are we really about to let LA City Council pass on implementing RCV?

For many years, I took barbs for refusing to call Israel's policy in East Jerusalem "ethnic cleansing". After all, there were 60,000 Palestinians in East Jerusalem in 1967, and 400,000 today. Occupation sucked, and included war crimes, but it wasn't ethnic cleansing. That has changed now. There are 3 Palestinian neighborhoods, all of whose residents are being or are about to be displaced: Batan al-Hawa and al-Bustan in Silwan, and Um Haroun in Sheik Jarrah. The latter two are being razed, or will be razed in the near future. And immediately to the east, the Bedouin hamlet of Khan al-Akmar, adjacent to E-1, is about to be expelled, part of an attempt to "cleanse" Area C between East Jerusalem and the Jordan River valley of its Palestinian residents. Regrettably, I can think of no other term to use other than "ethnic cleansing".

What. A. Joke.

The Charter Reform process shows that City Hall has nothing but contempt for LA voters. No ranked choice voting No council expansion but hey, at least the CAO gets to be named the CFO!! WHO IS THIS FOR??

We understand there's a candidate at our Administrative HQ in Norwalk talking about ballot processing. Meanwhile, we are here at the Ballot Processing Center where the votes are actually counted.

What if the election conspiracies in CA aren't because of how voting happens (which has been the same for decades) but because a gubernatorial candidate stole ballots to seed conspiracies and the system has yet to stop him.

Nithya Raman took 40% of the votes in today's drop & has overtaken Spencer Pratt for the second spot. She's now up close to half a point. Bass: 15,691 (32.81%) Raman: 19,096 (39.93%) Pratt: 8,489 (17.75%) Pretty safe to say Raman has unlocked a spot in the runoff.

With Angelenos soundly rejecting Hydee Feldstein Soto's request for another term as @CitiAttorneyLa, here's a thread with all the signs we saw even BEFORE she was elected to her first (and only) term. It was pretty clear her reign was going to be a shitshow.
