I haven’t tweeted about it in a while so —
Here’s a reminder that @LacrosseCanada will be collecting $19,005 from @BurlingtonMinor when the LC levy goes up to $15/player in 2025 (and close to half a million dollars from @OntarioLacrosse)
The @LacrosseCanada levy is going from $4 to $10 in 2024 and $15 in 2025 and will now apply to all @OntarioLacrosse house league players — it didn’t previously. Ontario pushed back and an amendment to exclude players U7 was defeated.
In 2022, @OntarioLacrosse decided to subsidize insurance to support the free program model. In 2023, 20 clubs offered a free U5 program. It’s a large investment for them but the ROI is there.
This will be eroded by @LacrosseCanada’s plans to collect $15/player from them by 2025.
Congrats to the Centre Wellington Riverhawks, Champions at our Tournament in our U9, U13 and U15 divisions. And to our own Thunderhawks for winning U11. It was a great weekend of lacrosse! @Zone9LAX@OntarioLacrosse
