ALT Heat Impacts on Vulnerable Populations. Everyone is at risk from the dangers of extreme heat, but these groups are more vulnerable than most: pregnant, newborns, children, elderly, chronic illness. Age and certain conditions make the body less able to regulate temperature. Never leave anyone alone in a closed car. Use air conditioners and stay in the shade. Drink plenty of water, even if not thirsty. Wear loose-fitting, light-colored clothing.

Long-period S-SW swell will generate hazardous conditions at the beach, including sneaker waves and strong rip currents. Stay back from the waterβs edge, stay off of jetties and piers, and NEVER turn your back on the ocean.

ALT A Coastal Flood Advisory is currently in effect for Bayshore locations in the North Bay through the early morning of Wednesday, June 17th due to minor coastal flooding near the high tide. Up to 1.8 feet of inundation above ground level is expected in low lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. Allow extra time for travel, do not drive around barricades or through water, and protect flood-prone property! High tide times and predictions in San Francisco are as follows: 1.2 feet of inundation at 8:51 PM on Thursday the 11th, 1.5 feet of inundation at 9:34 PM on Friday the 12th, 1.8 feet of inundation at 10:20 PM on Saturday the 13th, 1.3 feet of inundation at 11:10 PM on Sunday the 14th, 1.2 feet of inundation at 12:02 AM on Tuesday the 16th, and 1.0 feet of inundation at 12:56 AM on Wednesday the 17th.
ALT Widespread Moderate HeatRisk is anticipated on Thursday and Friday across a good portion of the Bay Area. Moderate Heatrisk means members of heat-sensitive groups will experience negative heat-related health effects, including heat illnesses. Shift activities outdoors to cooler times of day.

ALT 12 hour rain totals as of 1 AM. Most coastal areas have seen a few hundredths of an inch of rain at most, with coastal Sonoma County reporting a tenth to a quarter of an inch.
ALT Radar image from 6:18 PM, showing scattered echoes over the Bay Area. Because the radar is on high terrain south of San Jose, it is picking up echoes around four to five thousand feet above ground level in the San Francisco and Oakland areas.
