SAN FRANCISCO, CA – San Francisco Fire Department rescue technicians have identified the exact location of the hiker requiring rescue at Dead Man’s Point in the Presidio. Crews are currently setting up two separate rope rescue systems to safely access the victim’s location. Firefighters have confirmed the individual is in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries. This remains a technical rescue in hazardous conditions. The area is heavily brushed with steep cliff terrain and very dense fog. SFFD firefighters are working cautiously but swiftly to complete the rescue. Updates will be provided as the operation progresses.
SFFD CONDUCTING CLIFF RESCUE OPERATION AT LAND’S END SAN FRANCISCO, CA – San Francisco Fire Department crews are currently on scene at Land’s End in the Presidio, responding to a report of an individual injured off the cliffside. Due to terrain and weather conditions, rescuers do not have visual confirmation of the individual at this time. San Francisco Emergency Management 911 dispatchers have maintained constant communication with the individual and are directing fire crews to the location. SFFD is also using cell phone triangulation technology to pinpoint the exact position. The individual has reported injuries. The extent of those injuries is unknown at this time. SFFD technical rescue teams are assessing and preparing a rope rescue system to safely lower rescuers down the cliffside. Updates will be provided as the operation progresses.

Devlin Incident Thursday afternoon at approximately 3:27 PM, CAL FIRE / Napa County Fire was dispatched by the Emergency Command Center (Dispatch) to reports of a commercial vehicle fire in the 200 block of Devlin Rd in Napa. The first arriving unit (Engine 27) reported a fully involved vehicle fire containing multiple small propane tanks, with fire exposure to nearby vegetation and additional propane tanks. Due to the complexity of the incident—including a nearby 30,000-gallon propane tank that was not involved—additional resources were requested. Highway 29 and Devlin Rd were temporarily shut down by law enforcement to ensure public and first responder safety. Fire crews acted quickly to contain the fire. Crews remain on scene cooling the 30,000-gallon propane tank as a precaution. The incident resulted in the loss of two pickup trucks, a forklift, and multiple small propane tanks. No injuries and no structural damage were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation. All roads have reopened. Thank you to our mutual aid partners from Napa City Fire and American Canyon Fire for their assistance.
