My interpretation is that we can reasonably offer patients a choice of either PCI or no PCI depending on their situation/preferences/how many tablets they want to take. Congrats to the ORBITA investigators for delivering this great trial

We seriously need to get rid of the term ‘junior’ doctor. After speaking to my grandparents (who are relatively well educated!) it was clear they had NO idea what a junior doctor was. They were shocked when I told them a ‘junior’ was likely to be operating on them next week.

Looking forward to @drjohnm ’s podcast to hear his take on ERASE-AF. My thoughts - sample size of patients actually receiving PVI plus was too small (95% CI 1-38), and the rate of tamponade in those patients was nearly 4%. @NEJMEvidence why put the juicy stuff in Supplementary!?

Relevant meta-analysis for all #CIED interested #EPeeps showing recent experiences with endocardial LV stimulation. Relatively high AE rates and 2.8% procedure-related deaths might improve with rising learning curves 📈. We'll see.
