Thank you, everyone, for the well wishes, support, & love for my brother and our family. I reflect back on the days Kyle and I raced anything we could get our hands on. I will forever be grateful for the memories we made, the lessons you taught me, and the brotherhood we shared.

i am sorry. i have one more story after getting sent this photo that i never knew existed. this is my grandma, we lost her a little over a year ago. she was my number one fan and didn’t care who you were. you were gonna know it, and Kyle Busch was no exception. while he raced at kalamazoo speedway and did an autograph session the same year i started late model racing. my grandma took the opportunity to give him a hero card of mine to sign so she can mention her grandson races. the next year was the late model race at kalamazoo speedway that i got to race against kyle and i completely ran him in the fence and he told that story that he remembered it. we don’t know what goes on up there, but i would have to imagine that if my grandma saw him. she would go find him just talk about her grandson and knowing how kyle reacted then, he would have responded with a smile. this picture is heavy to me and i hope somewhere at grandma’s house that hero card is still there and i find it one day.

The world lost an amazing person yesterday. To share a small behind-the-scenes moment that speaks to who he was as a person: when we first began working with Kyle, the Kyle Kush idea was thrown out there and he instantly loved it. Not because he had to, but because he genuinely thought the fans would enjoy it. Shortly after its launch, there was a NASCAR Reddit thread that was overwhelmingly positive about it, and he was genuinely excited to see how many fans embraced it, even people who said they normally were not fans of his. You could tell how much NASCAR and all of its fans meant to him. What stood out most to us, though, was that despite being a superstar of his magnitude, he was an exceptionally kind person. Kyle was kind to everyone in our company and constantly displayed an unmatched passion for his family, his craft, and a relentless drive for excellence. His love for his family, his work, and the people around him ran incredibly deep, and we were fortunate to know him. Our hearts go out to Samantha, his children, and all of his loved ones.

We are deeply saddened and heartbroken by the passing of Kyle Busch, a fierce competitor and unforgettable part of Sonoma Raceway and NASCAR's history. Our thoughts and prayers are with Kyle's family, friends, team, and fans during this difficult time.

Statement from J. Douglas Boles on the passing of two-time #Brickyard400 winner and #NASCAR champion Kyle Busch.

Our hearts are broken for Samantha, Brexton, Lennix, and the entire Busch family. Kyle was a fierce competitor, an incredible teammate, and, far more importantly, a devoted husband, father, and son. His impact on our organization and on the sport of NASCAR will never be forgotten. During this unimaginable time, everyone at Joe Gibbs Racing and the Gibbs family are lifting the Busch family up in prayer.

Kyle was not just a mentor, but also a friend. His impact on my career was significant, and I’m forever grateful to him for giving me a chance in the Truck Series over 13 years ago. He helped put me on a path in NASCAR from our first time racing each other at that 2012 Snowball Derby. He was one of the best in the sport who pushed us all to be better drivers. Kyle had an impact on so many careers in this sport. I’m heartbroken at the loss of this champion. My thoughts and prayers are with the Busch family. Please keep them in your prayers during this difficult time. He will be missed.
