So this weekend Elham Kazemi claimed that pronouncing the word “tomorrow” as “tuh-MORE-oh” meant that I had an accent.
Then she went and said, “tuh-MAR-oh”
Just wild.

I use fraction talks every Friday for my warmup with my 8th graders - we call it Fraction Friday. It’s so valuable for Ss to see how others broke apart the shape to justify their response.
There's a kind of math teaching that is so obsessed with procedures, it basically turns into discovery learning but for concepts: "You'll figure out the concepts on your own later when you have the procedures by heart."
